Pink Shirt

Top // Jeans // Boots // Watch

This shirt is so soft and I absolutely love the color! I purchased it in 'Pink Elephant' but I'm seriously considering going back for another one! This outfit is super simple to put together but it looks nicer than wearing leggings and a t-shirt (aka what I wear every other day). It's been so much colder lately, that more layers are becoming necessary. You could easily throw on a jacket or vest to stay warm.

Open Letter to High School Seniors

The next few months are going to rush by and before you know it, you'll be walking across a stage wearing a cap and gown. You'll be celebrating the end of high school, and the beginning of something new and very different. You'll be told that the rest of your life begins on the day you graduate high school. This semester will be full of things that you shouldn't miss out on. You'll experience a lot of lasts. At this point, you've already attended your last first day of school, your last homecoming dance, and your last (high school) football game. You're now beginning your last semester. It won't be complete with out your last (high school) spring break, your last prom, and finally, your last day of school.

My biggest piece of advice to you is to make every moment count. You don't get to do this again.  I know it's been a stressful year. You've visited and applied to colleges, and maybe you're still waiting to hear back so you can make that momentous decision. While you're still in high school, go to all of the events! Don't miss out on something because you can't wait to get out of high school. It's such an important four years of your life, but it's only four years. Soon you'll be looking back on it and missing the simplicity.

Spend quality time with your friends and family. The group of friends you have now are probably not going to remain as close next year. Sure, you'll try to stay in touch and you'll catch up over Thanksgiving and Winter Break, but it's not the same. College will force you to make new friends, especially when your old ones are miles away. That's why it's so important to make lasting memories now. The same goes for family. Once you start your freshman year, you'll realize that you never fully appreciated a home cooked meal or a hug from your mom.

High school and college are two extremely different things. In less than a year, you'll have more freedom than you ever imagined. You'll also have to manage your time and keep up with your classes, which is not as easy as it was in high school. You'll meet incredible people and you'll learn so much about the world. Just don't spend your last semester in high school wishing it was already over.

Ruffled

Top (sold out in grey but I love 'Beech Stone' too!) // Jeans // Boots (similar) // Watch // Bracelet

I finally jumped on the bandwagon and got a 'Lokai' bracelet. Yes, the one with water from the highest point on Earth and mud from the lowest. I also really wanted the green and brown one, which sponsors the WWF but they are only selling it in a pack now. I adore this ruffle hemmed top from Old Navy! It's simple, comfy and easy to wear. The hem also adds a really fun and girly flair to the shirt. Although it is sold as a 'Lightweight Sweater', the material is pretty thin and feels more like a long sleeve shirt. It can be dressed up or dressed down, but tonight I'll be dressing it up to celebrate my eighteenth birthday! Being a college freshman, I'm the very last of my friends to turn eighteen, and we've all been waiting for this day for so long. How are you spending your long weekend?

Black & Olive

Shirt // Vest // Scarf (from last year) // Jeans // Boots // Socks (similar) // Watch

If you haven't noticed, I absolutely love shopping at Old Navy. Most of the time when my friends ask where I bought a piece of clothing, that is the answer. Old Navy. They always have so many sales on and I always save so much each time I shop there. Of course, that's where I purchased this shirt and vest. I'm obsessed with the color combo of black and olive green. I'm also in love with these new boots. With LL Bean boots on back order until April, I opted for a different version and received these Land's End duck boots for Christmas. They're so warm, and with the amount of rain we get at Missouri State, I'm sure I'll be wearing them constantly!

Colors of the Year

A little while ago, Pantone announced their Color of the Year for 2016, and for the first time ever they actually chose two hues! They are Rose Quartz and Serenity. You can read more about the reasoning for these color choices on Pantone's website. Designers will definitely be bringing out more pieces in these pretty shades this year but you can shop my picks now!
