Life's a Beach

After exploring Disney World, we drove seven hours to Orange Beach, Alabama. It was a little bit cooler than Orlando, but still warm. The ocean water was so cold, but we still went swimming. We even saw dolphins off the shore. Each morning, we got up early to collect seashells and look for sand dollars. This group of photos below is from our first morning, around seven-thirty.

I definitely recommend Orange Beach as a vacation destination. If you are already thinking about Spring Break next year, or planning for summer, consider the Gulf Shores, AL area. Orange Beach is nothing like Panama City Beach, but if you do want to party you can drive about five minutes down the road to Gulf Shores, where there were more college students.

The following photos were taken around six-thirty one morning. It was about 60 degrees Fahrenheit in the mornings, but it warmed up quickly throughout the day. That's 15 degrees in Celsius for non-American readers.

It was so nice to relax by the beach for a couple of days, especially following two crazy days at Disney. While at Orange Beach, we ate at Cotton's Restaurant and Rotolo's Pizzeria. Both restaurants were really good, and not cheap. So if you are looking for a nicer dinner out, definitely check them out.

We also shopped at some souvenir-y shops (ala spirit jerseys) and Shades for some brand-name clothing. They feature a variety of southern clothing brands, such as Vineyard Vines and The Southern Shirt Company. We actually chatted with the owner for a while, and met the dog that is on this shirt and this shirt.
